What is a good ski resort to attend this winter?
I have been snowboarding for about 5 years now, I live in the midwest and I’m tired of going to paoli peaks (just a hill). Im looking for a greyhound bus friendly ski resort with a cheap hotel near by?
I don’t care about a terrain park I am looking for steep black diamond type trails. I can travel but it will be by a greyhound bus.
Next winter I am going back country snowboarding in Valdez Alaska after my training with the Army.

Greyhound has a partnership with Amtrak, and Amtrak has a stop in Winter Park, CO. You could take Greyhound to Chicago, change to Amtrak, and take that to Winter Park. There is a hostel in Winter Park that is very high-quality but also cheap. The skiing is good there, especially if you like moguls.
Or if that’s too far away, there’s some places in Northern Michigan (if you do the "Michigan hand-map thing", I’m talking about near the tip of your ring finger) that are taller than Paoli, but still not anywhere near "real" mountains.

greyhound has a stop in Vail, Colorado and from there you can take public transit to Breckenridge and Keystone and such. That’ll be the best on-piste snowboarding in the country but ya getting a cheap hotel up there will be a challenge.
Salt Lake City!!! There are 8 awesome resorts so close to each other and accessible within an hour of the city where there is a ton of cheap hotels!! Its really a great place!
I agree Winter Park would be a good place to go - lots of good black runs, lots of moguls and one of the cheaper resorts for lodging.
The greyhound bus is actually going to start going through Winter Park again this year, so you can just hop on the bus!
