This is like comparing apples to oranges, but where would you rather between these two places?
Would you rather live in Connecticut and have four seasons, greenery, and be a train ride away from the most exciting city in the country (NYC)? or live in Arizona with year round sunshine, mountains, ski areas nearby, and not too far from California? Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

While I am young and potentially thinking about a family, then having four seasons and the greenery is great. Having a city nearby is a bonus. Year round sunshine can be more attractive to old bones.
Arizona sounds nice.
Where in AZ? Northern AZ has four seasons. Southern AZ not so much, Phoenix only has summer, all year. As for farming, the growing season is most of the year if you are south, it snows in the north so you only get 3/4 of the year there. It gets hot here, if you don’t have alot of heat tolerance go to CT. CA is not that far away true, and neither is Mexico and Mexico has pretty good beaches too, and it’s cheaper. It’s nice not really having to think about the weather, or worry if you have the right clothes, or a special event will be ruined by rain, and you rarely need more than a jacket. But your right not alot of green or open water. As for Skiing the north has much more reliable snowfall, look at Flagstaff stats for more info, Mt Lemon, not so much, it does get affected by the drought a lot.
I forgot to add that we don’t have hurricanes, tornados, major floods, earthquakes, or major ice storms.
Arizona may have year round sunshine, but they are actually losing more and more of their skiing every year because the snow is not coming. And the droughts are more frequent.
I would rather live someplace with reliable WATER. The essence of life. I could more reliably grow my own food in Connecticut than Arizona. I also like the change of seasons, and I would miss fall terribly, and snow, if I moved someplace temperate. (The proximity to NYC would have no bearing on my decision).
